After long winter, polo ground wears festive look
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, deputy commissioner Irshad Sodhar said the KP government has approved provision of Rs350 million for the reconstruction and renovation of the Chitral polo ground. He said Rs2.5 million each have also been sought from the government for the reconstruction of other polo grounds in different parts of Chitral. He said the polo ground in the town would be utilized only for playing polo matches. Shahzada Iskendarul Mulk, the president of the polo association, who chaired the function, said besides the teams of security forces there was also a need to financially support and patronize civilian polo players to promote the game at the grassroots level as they were no longer able to afford keeping horses.–S.
