Brep residents plan another protest against youth’s murder
BREP: The people of Brep have decided to hold another protest on Jan 28 (Sunday) against delays and uncertainty in providing justice to the parents of a youth who was killed mysteriously in his home in April last year.
Aslam Baig, 24, son of Purdoom of Brep, was found dead on the night of April 14 last year and his wife told his elderly grandfather after his death that he had suffered a heart attack.
The deceased was buried without conducting an autopsy as his father believed it could be a natural death despite claims by a number of relatives who had seen marks of wounds on the body. The father was in Islamabad for work when the incident occurred.
A police constable from Zupu in upper Yarkhun, also the home village of the wife of the deceased, in October contracted court marriage with the widow of Aslam Baig. At this, suspicions arose over the involvement of the constable in the killing of Aslam Baig in collusion with his wife.
