Four ministers to inspect projects before PM’s expected visit to Chitral

ISLAMABAD: Four federal ministers are expected to inspect development projects launched by the PML-N government before the expected visit of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to the district.

The prime minister has agreed to visit Chitral on the invitation of MNA Chitral some time in October 2017 to inaugurate major roads projects and gas plants which were planned by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Mr Sharif called and spoke to Shahzada Iftikhar on 19th August and reiterated his resolve to start work on all the approved PSDP projects. At a meeting at the Ministry of Communications, the minister Hafiz Abdul Karim resolved to expediting Chitral’s PSDP road projects to be implemented by NHA and also agreed to visit Chitral in near future.

In a meeting with Shahzada Iftikhar, the minister also suggested to take along Federal Minister for Health Tahira Afzal Tarar, Minister for Water Syed Javed Ali Shah as well as Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal to Chitral.

The federal ministers have agreed to include Kalash valleys road in the next ECNEC agenda besides expediting work on the Chitral-Booni Mastuj-Shandur Road and starting the ECNEC approved Kalkatak-Drosh Road design work as the South Korean EXIM Bank has already agreed to finance the Chakdara-Chitral Expressway.

The minister will visit the planned NHA project sites of Drosh, Kalash valleys, Garam Chashama, Booni and Shandur, said the MNA.
