Chitralis delighted over arrival of rickshaw in town
CHITRAL: The arrival of a rickshaw, a three-wheeler cheap mode of transport, in Chitral has delighted the people of Chitral.
The rickshaw in Chitral is a result of the opening of the Lowari tunnel. Besides, the all-weather passageway has started bringing different facilities of life to the doorsteps of the locals that were available only in urban areas out of the land-locked valley in the past.
The people of Chitral town were delighted when they saw a rickshaw plying in the local bazaar on Tuesday.
Talking to ChitralToday, the driver of the three-wheeler said this cheap mode of transportation would soon be available for the residents in the Chitral town. He said more rickshaws were coming to the town to launch the service.–Irshadullah Shad
Instead of Rickshaws, if motorcycle taxi system can be introduced in Chitral, it will work very well as large number of unemployed youth fond of motor-cycling can get gainfully employed and the public will have added facility. This is successfully practiced in SE Asian countries.
Admin must ban rickshaws in Chitral
This is not the first time that Rakshaw was brought to Chitral. It was in late 90s Mr. Rahmat Alam, presently working as a driver in DEO (Female) Chitral had brought in a two stroke Rakshaw which, was most probably not allowed by the then administration, for reasons better known to them, to ply on the road. For your information, that is not new for us as a source of excitement or a source of an additional transport facility rather an addition to the source of already polluted Chitral’s air and physical environment.
