Ex-MPA seeks compensation for affected people

ISLAMABAD: Former MPA Haji Ghulam Muhammad on Sunday expressed grief over the loss of nine lives and a soldier in an avalanche in Shershal village of Karimabad, and in Arandu, respectively.
ghulamThe avalanche smashed into the village of Shershal in Karimbaad valley, killing nine people, including four women and four children.  In another incident, an avalanche hit a checkpost of Chital Scouts in Arandu, which killed a soldier.
The former MPA called upon the federal and provincial governments to expedite relief efforts and demanded compensation for the families of those who lost their near and dear ones. He also stressed the need for the early opening of blocked roads to different sub-valleys where thousands of people have stranded.
