The action was taken by the SHO of the Booni police, Hazrat Uddin on the direction of the subdivisional police officer (SDPO), Atiqur Rehman. It may be noted that a few weeks ago, two alleged drug peddlers were also held in the Reshun Gol area and a record quantity (over 60 litres) local liquor recovered from their possession. Talking to ChitralToday, a police officer said the two suspects were rounded up early on Tuesday at Kuragh Risht where the police had established a picket for this purpose. He identified the alleged drug peddlers as Nasir Ullah and Akhtar Hussain and said the latter had been wanted by the police for long but was avoiding arrest. Meanwhile, Muhammad Pervez Lal, the information secretary of Tehreek Huqooqe-e-Awam upper Chitral and chairman of the Nazimeen Forum, said the Booni police were doing a good job and should continue the campaign against drug peddlers, producers and users without any discrimination for the best interest of the residents, especially the youth.]]>
