Mastuj road again blocked at Nisur Gol
BOONI: The Chitral-Mastuj road was again blocked after flooding in Nisur Gol today. The road blockade caused immense hardship to travellers as hundreds of people were seen stranded on both sides of the stream.
It has been learnt that the road has been partially blocked by stream flooding in many parts of Yarkhun as well.
The only road connecting Yarkhun and Laspur valleys to rest part of the District at Nisur Gole remained blocked and opened several times during the month with the start of monsoon flood in Chitral. Local Administration (Mr. Saleh AC Mastuj) and MPA Mr. Sardar Hussains’s effort to keep this road open are highly appreciated and expect that they would continue their utmost efforts to keep road open for traffic.
Since petrol pumps in upper Chitral are dry, Upon our request Pakistan State Oil Company (PSO)is agreed supplying fuel to Mastuj via Gilgit/Shandur and Mastuj bound oil tankers are now on way to Gilgit, shall hopefully reach Shandur by 31st of July. MPA and Local administration is requested to keep all roads from Shandur to Brep and to Booni for supplying fuel to Pumps at Brep, Mastuj, Parwak, Junalkoch and at Kuragh/Charun.
Finally thank to local and national media to have been able to record and report all about the havoc caused by flood in Chitral.
