MNA seeks steel bailey bridges for flood-hit areas

BOONI, July 20: MNA Chitral Iftikhar Uddin on Monday said he has demanded the federal government provide six steel baley bridges to restore communication in the flood-devastated valley.
He said the steel bailey bridges were urgently needed to restore traffic to the flood-hit areas of Shogore, Garam Chashma, Murdan, Oseak, Broz and Kosht. The MNA also said Prime Minsiter Nawaz Sharif had directed army mobilization to restore communication links and provide help to the flood-hit people.
Hes aid a cash injection of Rs400 million was also needed on an emergency basis coupled with immediate authorization of competent authorities of C&W,  irrigation, PHED and local government departments. He said that he had also demanded an immediate start of work on the damaged roads to Garam Chashma and Mastuj.
The MNA said that the GOC Swat was on a visit to Chitral while officials of the NDMA and PDMA were already coordinating relief work. He said he would be visiting the affected areas on Tuesday.—SN Peerzada
