JUI leader alleges irregularities in Chitral Levies hiring

CHITRAL, Feb 20: The provincial deputy leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Salahudin Tofan, has demanded the federal and provincial governments order an investigation into the allegations of irregularities in the recent recruitment in the Chitral Levies, formerly border police. tofanIn a press statement, Mr Tofan alleged that huge irregularities had surfaced in the recruitment process. He said an advertisement in national newspapers had invited applications for the posts till February 25. He said the submission of applications was under process and candidates from the far-off areas had reached the Chitral town to submit the forms but all this seemed to be just a paper work as the posts were already filled even before the advertisement was placed in the press. He said the deputy commissioner Chitral, who was also the commandant of the Chitral Levies, had befooled the educated youth of Chitral by inviting them to apply for the already filled posts. He said that on January 30, at least 35 persons were recruited in the force on the direction of the deputy commissioner office. He said candidates close to government officials and political personalities were inducted on the posts. He asked was it the justice system the PTI government was following. Salahuddin demanded the federal as well as provincial governments to immediately terminate all the process and initiate an inquiry against these irregularities which brought a bad name to both the federal and provincial governments, particularly the ministry of SAFRON.jobs]]>

  1. The recruitment in the ‘Border Police’ has been announced almost four to five times since 2010, provided the young people from far flung area the token and then no one has been appointed from border areas like Broghil, Yarkhun etc. And every time the young people travel to Chitral spend more than Rs.10,000 for their transport and hotel expenses. But unfortunately they have been always disappointed and this is the right of only border villages. Kindly investigate the number of border police being appointed from town areas more than border villages. The poor young guys only waste their parent’s income for transport and hotel. And then return back with same message that it is canceled.

  2. May be the JUI has failed to appoint his relatives. We know very well how justice is defined in JUI party and know the party from top to bottom.
