Charun UC removed from PPAF programme
BOONI, Feb 20: Former union council nazim Mr Amirullah has said that it was unfortunate that the Charun UC has been removed from a poverty alleviation programme to be launched in three union councils of Chitral. It may be noted that on November 9, 2014, the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) sought expression of interests and placed advertisements in leading national newspapers to launch the programme with the financial assistance of the Italian government in the three UCs. However, now it is learnt that the PPAF has removed the union council of Charun from the programme. This has sent a shockwave among the people of the area. Talking to ChitralToday, the former UC nazim, Mr Amirullah, said the exclusion of the Charun UC from the poverty alleviation programme had created disappointment among the local residents. He said due to natural calamities the union council had been facing lots of issues for many years. He demanded that the PPAF should reconsider its decision and include the Charun union council in the poverty alleviation programme again.—S.N. Peerzada]]>
