CHITRAL, Feb 3: District Police Officer (DPO) Abbas Majid Marwat here asked the police officials to avoid using political or any other connections to get their issues resolved.
Addressing a police Darbar at the police lines after taking over the charge here, the DPO asked the Jawans of the force to directly approach him for the resolution of any issue that would be decided on merit.
He said the Jawans and officials can also contact him through mobile text messages or using the Facebook page of the Chitral police in case they spotted any wrongdoing even in the department. The DPO assured them that their identities would be kept secret. He said these steps were also needed to bring the officers and Jawans closer.
He also asked the officials to strictly follow disciple in the discharge of their duties, adding diligence of duty would not be tolerated in the public service. The DPO appreciated the working of the Mastuj police station, saying this was the only police station in Chitral which kept its record updated.–Nazir Hussain
