BOONI, Jan 19: The Booni Development Forum (BDF) at a meeting here on Monday assailed the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) for its delaying tactics in launching work on three small hydropower projects in the Booni town.
The meeting was presided over by Forum chairman Sardar Hakim Khan. The participants said since January 2012 the SRSP management had been cold-shouldering the projects even though the local people removed all the hindrances. They said the SRSP had been making lame excuses for its failure to start the work. They said it was a joke with the people of the area who were now fed up with the prolonged delay and the promises for the launching of the projects.
The participants said the SRSP kept on changing the dates for floating tenders beginning from December 25 to January 5 and then January 15, but now its officials were making different excuses and not ready to go ahead with the work.
