Water supply scheme completed in Kalkatak

CHITRAL, Nov 14:  A drinking water supply scheme completed by the Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP) at Kalkatak was opened on Friday. SONY DSCAdviser Board of Director SRSP Engineer Ihsanullah Khan was chief guest while the ceremony was presided over by Qari Jamal Abdul Nasir of the JUI. Addressing the ceremony, SRSP social moralizer Salahuddin Salih said the scheme was completed at a cost of Rs.5.2 million with Rs0.41 million community share in five months. He said some 200 households would benefit from the project. Ihsanullah Khan on the ocacsion said that the SRSP always rendered best service to  the people of most neglected areas of KP. He said that the scheme was completed with financial support of European Union under Program for Economic Advancement and Community Empowerment (PEACE). Talking to this correspondent, local resident Qari Fazal Haq said Kalkatak was totally deprived of drinking water since creation of Pakistan and we are very thankful to SRSP for compelting the scheme. Qari Jamal Abdul Nasir criticized some other nongovernmental organizations who he alleged were involved in embezzlement of huge funds and showed their schemes only in papers.
