CHITRAL: The four-day national anti-polio campaign has begun in Upper and Lower Chitral, with district administrations stepping up monitoring, security and field coordination to ensure that all children under the age of five receive polio vaccination.

In Lower Chitral, the first day of the campaign continued peacefully and in an organised manner. On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Ehsanullah, the district administration ensured effective supervision and special security arrangements for vaccination teams.

District officials visited various areas to check the attendance of polio workers, vaccination coverage, door marking and finger marking. During the field visits, officials also administered polio drops to children.

Vaccination teams were directed to follow their prescribed micro-plans and visit households to ensure that every child under five is vaccinated. They were also instructed to revisit homes where children had been missed and strengthen field monitoring and coordination to achieve the campaign’s targets.
