Medical colleges’ entry test: Girl from remote village leads candidates from Chitral

CHITRAL, Oct 1: A female student from the far-off and isolated village of Dewangol in upper Chitral has topped the entry test of medical colleges in the KP province from the whole district of Chitral.

Sajida Raza, daughter of Muhammad Raza, scored 75.99 markes in the test and qualified for the admission to the Khyber Medical College (KMC).

The other students who passed the entry test from Chitral are: Faryal Subhani, daughter of Subhanuddin, Reshun, (73.94 per cent); Ashfaq Ali, son of Maqsad Ali, Booni Gol (73.57), Wajibullah, son of Muhammad Sharman (73.25); Ghayasuddin, son of Ghairatuddin (71.73), and Muhammad Sarwar Khan, son of Muhammad Nadir Khan, (71.31). There are six seats reserved for students from Chitral in the province’s two medical and dental colleges.

The first two top mark scorers will be accommodated at the KMC, the third and fourth will go to the Ayub Medical College Abbottabad while the remaining two candidates will be given admission to the dental colleges. Ms Sajida and Ms Faryal, the two students on top of the the merit list from Chitral, have also qualified the entry test of the Aga Khan University (AKU) Karachi which will announce its final merit list by Oct 16.
