100,000 students to get laptops this month
PESHAWAR, June 2 (APP): Chairperson Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Maryam Nawaz Monday said the government intends to provide laptops to 0.1 million students of the country in June.
Addressing “Fee Reimbursement Scheme for Less Developed Areas” here at Governor House, she said education is top priority of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who has initiated “Fee Reimbursement Scheme” for deserving students of less-developed areas in a bid to facilitate them to continue their higher studies. She said under the scheme the Prime Minister would pay the fee including admission fee and library charges of deserving students up to Rs.40,000.
Maryam said she had accepted the responsibility of Youth Programme as a chairperson for the brighter future of youth, especially of backward areas. “I have no desire to get a ministry or lucrative post; rather I have assumed the responsibility of Youth Programme as a chairperson so that I could work for the brighter future of youth.”
Earlier, HEC chairman Professor Dr. Mukhtiar Ahmed said that 34,000 student of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be benefitted from “Fee Reimbursement Scheme”. He said that Rs. 1.2 billion will be distributed among students across the country under the head of “Fee Reimbursement Scheme” by June this year.
He said that as many as 7225 student of seven agencies of FATA and 10 districts of KP will get their fee reimbursed this year under the prime minister’s initiative. HEC chairman informed the participants that 10 universities of Pakistan are among top best universities of Asia.]]>
