Khowar Anjuman elects new office-bearers

DROSH, May 5: After completion of the three-year tenure of the outgoing cabinet, Anjuman Taraqi-e-Chitral Drosh elected its new office-bearers.

The Anjuman’s new president for the next three years would be Irshad Mukarar and secretary general Saeedullah Sahil. The election of the new cabinet was held during a meeting of the Anjuman which was chaired by Aminullah Amin, a senior member of the Anjuman. Outgoing secretary Saeed Kainati presented a progress report about the former cabinet.

Addressing the meeting, former president Anisur Rehman Chughtai said that we all should make untiring efforts for the promotion and preservation of the Khowar language and culture. He said under the limited resources whatever was possible he and his colleagues rendered services for the promotion of the language during their tenure in the Anjuman.

The participants of the meeting on the occasion paid tributes to the outgoing cabinet for their unflinching services especially for the improvement of the Khowar Primer and language.

The meeting through a consensus elected the following literary persons as office-bearers for the next three years. Aminur Rehman Chughtai, patron-in-chief; Irshad Hussain Mukarar, president; Aminullah Amin, vice-president; Ghulam Hussain Beqarar, vice-president; Saeedullah Sahil, general secretary; Hamidullah Hameed, joint secretary; Saeed Kainati, press secretary; Saddam Ali Andaz, office secretary, and Jaffar Ali Multaji, finance secretary.

Addressing the meeting, the new president, Irshad Mukarar, thanked the Anjuman members for reposing confidence in him and assured the participants that he would also be working for the promotion of the Khowar language and culture under the platform of the Anjuman.–Jahan Zeb Rahi
