Madak Lasht women imparted skill development training

CHITRAL, Feb 27: Skill development training was provided to 25 women of Madak Lusht valley of Shishi Koh union council by a non-governmental organization to help them set up small-scale cottage industry to earn their sustenance. In the certificate giving ceremony held here on Thursday, it was said that the training programme was financed by Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund which was meant to alleviate poverty in the backward area through self-employment of women. Speaking on the occasion, the district program manager of the NGO Tariq Ahmed, project manager of PPAF Salahuddin and additional assistant commissioner Syed Mazhar Ali Shah said the three-month condensed course was designed in such a way that the trainees could be able to start business on independent basis in cottage industry. They said that computer course was also included in the trades of training while the module of the course also contained practical exercise on small scale entrepreneurship. The speakers said that the poverty can be reduced on significant only by providing opportunities of self-employment through vocational training which benefited the other people in the vicinity.
