Poverty should not be an impediment to education

CHITRAL, Nov 23: The reconstructed government primary school of Bakarabad was opened on Saturday. bakrabad copyIn this regard, a ceremony was held at the school which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Shoaib Jadoon. The three classrooms, three washrooms and the boundary wall were reconstructed by Chitral Integrated Area Development Program (CIADP) funded by Norwegian government. All Primary Teachers Association district president Muhammad Ashraf thanked the CIADP for renovation and reconstruction of the school. District Education Officer Haji Nisar Muhammad Khan said although education is the main focus of the government we face lack of fund and that is why civil society played a vital role in promotion of education. The deputy commissioner stressed upon the local people to send their children to schools because education is the only way for development. He said poverty is no hurdle in the way of knowledge and parents should be careful about their children’s education. Coordinator CIADP Asfandiyar Khan said they constructed 16 classrooms in 13 schools with five science laboratories. Besides 16 computers were provided to the education department along with printers while 400 desks, benches and furniture were also provided to different schools. He said that they will upgrade one school from primary to middle by constructing two extra rooms and will build 15 classrooms and three science laboratories next year.bakrabad2 copy]]>
