Security fears: bus service on Pindi-Gilgit route suspended

RAWALPINDI, Nov 19: The bus service from Rawalpindi to Gilgit-Balitistan has been suspended due to security reasons.

As a result, hundreds of commuters belonging to Gilgit-Baltistan are facing difficulties in leaving the city.

Sources said that bus service to GB had been suspended under security concerns for an indefinite time, while buses coming from GB have also been ordered to return from the way.

It may be noted that the route to Gilgit-Baltistan has frequently seen sectarian killing of passengers in the past.

Unavailability of bus service has spread the disappointment among the travelers who were visiting their homes after a long time, they have demanded from government to resolve their issue as soon as possible. A large number of people intending to travel down country from different parts of GB were also stranded in the Gilgit city.
