PTI govt ignoring Chitral, says ANP leader
DROSH, Nov 19: The Awami National Party (ANP) Chitral at a meeting here said that during the tenure of the previous provincial government a record number of development projects were launched in Chitral work on which was continuing. Speaking at a meeting of the party here, Shahzada Ziur Rehman, a former president of ANP subdivision Chitral, said the launching of so many development projects by former chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti showed the ANP’s love and care for the people of Chitral. However, he regretted that during the current PTI-led government in the province, even the flood-affected people of Chitral were ignored let alone launching any new development scheme in the valley. It seems that the people of Chitral have no importance for the PTI-led government and its minister, he added. Mr Rehman added that during the closure of the Lowari top road, the people of Chitral, including women and children, faced humiliation and miseries on both sides of the tunnel but the PTI leaders failed to come to their rescue. Mr Rehman also said that Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali never tired of protesting and chanting slogans for petty issues but now when his government was part of the provincial government, he had become silent and was doing nothing to resolve the issues of Chitralis. He said during its tenure, the ANP had made arrangements to open the tunnel for traffic well before the closure of the Lowari top road.]]>
