Chitral Festival: Youth from Yarkhun wins marathon race
CHITRAL, Oct 7: Lawn tennis and marathon race were arranged as part of the ongoing Jashn-e-Chitral festival here on Monday. The Government Centennial Model High School Chitral won the double lawn tennis final whereas Sajjad Ali Shah from Yarkhun Valley stood first in the marathon race. Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf leader and member National Assembly from Kohat Shehriyar Afridi was the chief guest on the occasion. Later, he gave away the trophies and prizes to the winners. Addressing the people on the occasion, Afridi said all members of the national and provincial assemblies elected on the PTI tickets belonged to the middle class and hence were in a better position to know and resolve the problems faced by the common people. He said the PT-led government in KP had started resolving problems of the poor on a priority basis and the passage of the Access to Information Bill by the provincial assembly was the first milestone in this regard. He assured the people of Chitral that the PTI would usher in a revolution in the education and health sectors. He eulogized the services of AKDN and other non-governmental organizations in the socio-economic development of Chitral.]]>
