60 unemployed youth sent for technical training

CHITRAL, Sept 20: A group of 60 unemployed youth from Sheshi Koh valley were sent to a technical college in Rawalpindi by Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) for getting technical training in different trades. At a function to bid farewell to the selected youth in Sheshi Koh valley, the district programme manager of SRSP Tariq Ahmed they selected the union council for the prevalent high magnitude poverty in the area. Mr Ahmed said 260 persons, both male and female, were being provided financial assistance in cash and kind to enable them establish their micro level business to derive their sustenance by self-employment. He said that all the expenses of the training programme of the youth will be borne by SRSP and a stipend of 6,000 rupees will be given to each trainee on a monthly basis to support their families. Regarding the trades offered in the institute, he named building and road construction machineries, auto mechanic, auto electric, auto cad, civil draftsmanship and computer applications and said that certificates will be awarded to those completing the courses. Addressing on the occasion, the social organizer Salahud Din Saleh asked the youth selected for the training programme to fully avail the chance which will open new avenues of progress and prosperity for them and their families. He said that job market, both in the country and abroad, is still deficient of skilled hands in the trades and gives them a definite chance of getting employment with attractive salaries.–Zahiruddin]]>
