Six killed in accident in Torkhow

CHITRAL, Aug 20: Six people were killed and three others injured when a land-cruiser  fell into a ravine at Washich in Torkhow valley, about 120 kilometres north of here, on Tuesday. The vehicle (PS-1699) was going to Torkhow from Chitral when it met with the accident. The deceased were identified as driver Taighun Zar, a resident of Rech, Maulana Fazalullah of Peshkot, Mir Madad and his daughter of Rech, and Ashraf Madad of Rech. One of the accident victims identified as Maryam, 10 years, was brought to the DHQ Hospital Chitral where she also died later. The injured were taken to a local hospital. The cause of the accident was stated to be speeding on the bumpy road. Inanotherr traffic accident at Damil in Arandu, a woman was killed and two other persons were injured.
