Low voltage: Four PESCO officials jailed in Chitral
CHITRAL, July 30: A judge of the consumer court here sent to jail four officers of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) for neglecting the orders of the court to resolve the problem of low voltage in the Chitral town. Those who were sent behind bars here on Tuesday included executive engineer of Mardan Division Murad Khan, resident engineer of 132 KV grid station Batkhela Mohammad Ayub, subdivisional officer Chitral Ghulam Rashid and lineman Chitral grid station Nasir Khan. The judge ordered the police to produce the PESCO officers before the court on August 5. The local lawyers had filed a case with the consumer court praying that the abysmally low voltage supplied by the power distribution company had inflicted heavy losses on the consumers.
