Drosh: girls school bus left to rust

DROSH, July 12: Looking at the condition of the only bus provided for the students of the Govt High School for Girls Drosh, it seems that the government is least bothered to help women in getting education. drosh copyThe garrison town of Drosh has only one high school for girls which caters not only to the population of the town but also scores of villages in the vicinity. During the tenure of the previous ANP government, the then chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti provided a second-hand bus to the school. However, this bus could be operated for only two years after which it broke down and still waits repair and maintenance. As a result, the female students are suffering a great deal of hardship in coming to and back from the school. The local people continued requesting the former EDO education Siraj Mohammad Kahn to provide funds to repair the bus but to no avail. there is no other bus in the school that can be used to transport the students to and from the far-off areas to the school. Social circles here have demanded that the new government should at least provide funds to repair the bus so that it can be operated to facilitate the students. They also demanded that an inquiry should also be ordered into the purchase of the old bus despite the fact that the previous government had provided funds to buy a new bus for the school.]]>
