Judges hiring approved

GILGIT, Jan 21: After bickering for over seven months, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has approved a summary sent by  Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Pir Karam Ali Shah for appointment of two judges in the Supreme Appellate Court of the region. The posts remained vacant for over seven months making teh apex court of the region almost non-functional. The summary sought elevation of Chief Judge Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court Raja Jalal Khan and member Chief Court Muzzafar Hussain as judges of the Supreme Appellate Court. Member Chief Court Sahib Khan was promoted as Chief Judge of the Chief Court.]]>
