Inter-school tourney ends: Shining stars get awards

CHITRAL, Nov 17: The concluding ceremony of the inter-school sports tournament was held at the Centennial Model School here on Saturday. [caption id="attachment_5729" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Award-winning students.--ChitralToday"][/caption] Students from different educational institutions across the district were given awards for their outstanding performances in different competitions. The Pamir Public School, Garam Chashma, lifted the football trophy while Govt High School Kosht remained the runner-up. The cricket trophy was awarded to the Pamir Public School, Booni, while the Centennial Public School Chitral was declared as the runner-up. Similarly, Pamir Public School and College Booni also lifted the volleyball cup after beating Govt Higher Secondary School, Morilasht, in the final. In Husne Qiraat, Khalil Ahmed of Islamia Public School, Warijun, grabbed the first award while the second award went to Inamur Rehman of Govt High School Garum Chashma. In Urdu speech, Waqar Ahmed of Govt High School Ashiret was declared the first winner while Naveed Hayat of Govt High School Koghuzi remained second. In the English speech, the first prize was given to Ali Diyar of Govt Higher Secondary School, Garam Chashma and the second prize to Khursheed Ali of Pamir Public School and College, Booni. In Naat competition, Abdul Kabir of GHS Mushgol remained first and Fawad Ahmed of Qutaiba Public School Chitral second. In national anthem recitation, Govt High School Madaklasht was adjudged first and Govt High School Kosht second. In national songs, Chitral Public School remained first and Govt High School Moroi was declared second. In English composition, Fardad Ali of AKHSS Chitral won the first prize. MPA Ghulam Mohammad distributed the prizes among the students on the occasion.]]>

  1. @ Khurshid; actually I did not witness all the matches personally. The report was filed as per the information provided to me by the organizers of the tournament, however, thank you for correcting the mistake and taking interest in the website.

  2. In the report about the inter-school tournament final by Mr. Waqar Ahmad, there is wrong news about the cricket runner-up team. It is Langlands School not the Centennial Model School, Chitral.
