Kosht gets institute of higher education

Education is the best long-term strategy for any kind of peaceful development especially in areas like Chitral where cultivable land is only 2-3% of the total area. Union Council Kosht is the largest UC of the district having a good number of government and private schools up to secondary level.  However, there was no college for students at degree levels. The Aga Khan Higher Secondary College for Girls Moreder was the only college in the area specific for girls. Students, both male and females, were facing difficulties regarding education after matriculation. This year Mr. Adnan Zainulabidin from Moreder, a notable social worker and aspirant of quality education , took a bold step for providing degree level education at the doorsteps of students of the area (UC Kosht) and established The Brilliance School of Studies ( BSS) Kosht where classes have started in Science and Humanities & Arts recently. The inaugural ceremony of The Brilliance School of Studies (BSS) was held with pomp and show on August 26. It was my first ever attendance of any inauguration regarding a school or college. Among a huge number of participants some of the notable guests  were DCO Chitral Rehmatuallah Wazir as a chief guest, Dr.Inayatuallah Faizi as the president of the ceremony , Mr. Adnan Zainulabidin , Chairman Board of Directors, BSS Kosht and Nasima Zainulabidin , PhD. Student AKU Karachi. Talking to the participants, Mr.Adnan Zainulabidin emphasized the importance of access to education and shared his vision of providing educational opportunities for the development of the area. Ceremonial activities show the interest of the management team of any organization. However, in the words of Mr. Adnan, it is the vision and the commitment that needs to be upheld and carried along. Mrs. Nasima Zainulabidin , while addressing the huge number of male and female participants, talked on the responsibilities of parents in the early childhood development and providing a friendly environment to the children at the adolescent stages. Dr.Inayatullah Faizi prayed and wished that BSS would provide Master and PhD classes in future. DCO Chitral believed that Chitrali people have the best mind and are very talented. The students of the college also shared their items including dialogues and presentations. This short, decent and sweet inauguration ceremony took two hours. I think, these types of activities are very important to create educationally conducive environments.  Most of the times, it is an uphill task to gather people for something which cannot be seen and touched on the spot. Things like bright future, successful life and quality education are dreams. Dreams that can come true in the future; dreams that can be seen with eyes wide open. As Dr Faizi said that all famous organizations like Harvard University had humble starting and today it is a world class education center. Likewise, I also hope, one day BSS Kosht would be producing academically competitive and socially responsible citizens. As an inhabitant of UC Kosht, I pray for the all the educational institutions in the area to flourish and spread the light of knowledge and wisdom.
