CHITRAL, June 6: Member Provincial Assembly Haji Ghulam Mohammad inaugurated the government girls high school Awi after it was upgraded from the middle level. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, he said during his election campaign he had seen some girl students going to Girls High School in Booni on foot. At that time, I determined that if I won the elections I would establish a high school for girls in Awi and today by the grace of Allah Almighty I have fulfilled my promise by upgrading the middle school at a cost of Rs14 million. He also visited the under-construction building for the high school and asked the engineer and contractor to use good quality material and not compromise on its standard. Earlier, the MPA also inaugurated a grain warehouse at Booni which has the capacity to store 250 tons of wheat. This project cost 13 million rupees. Meanwhile, Suria Bibi, a teacher in Awi, told chitraltoday.net that there was no school for girl students in the village and they were compelled to travel to over 10 kilometers a day to Booni.
