Acclaimed mountaineer Hassan Sadpara dies

He was the only Pakistani to climb eight of the world’s highest peaks. He had been awarded with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for his mountaineering achievements. He had been under treatment at the CMH after being diagnosed with blood cancer. He is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter. Sadpara’s real name was Hassan Asad, belonged to a village called Sadpara, located between Deosai plains and Skardu city. He also served as a trainer for the Gilgit-Baltistan Police. His body will be shifted to Skardu where he will be buried in his ancestral village.–Pamir Times]]>
