Chitral, July 9, 2026: Newly appointed District Police Officer (DPO) Lower Chitral Resham Jahangir met with leaders of the Ismaili community to discuss matters related to interfaith harmony, mutual cooperation, anti-narcotics efforts, and the prevention of suicide.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on key social issues and emphasized the importance of collective efforts to maintain peace and promote community well-being across the district.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Resham Jahangir appreciated the Ismaili community’s contribution to fostering lasting peace and social harmony in Lower Chitral.
She reaffirmed the commitment of the Lower Chitral Police to working closely with people from all schools of thought and communities to ensure law and order and safeguard the lives and property of citizens.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation between the police and the community in addressing social challenges and promoting a peaceful environment in the district.
Earlier, the DPO also held a separate meeting with Ulema and stressed their role in tackling the issue of drug peddling to save the youth from the menace.
