Yarkhun, May 22, 2026: Ismailis of Yarkhun and other remote parts of Upper Chitral have started making their way toward Parwak Lasht Didargah to receive Didar expected on May 23.

Reports from different areas of Yarkhun indicate that people began their journeys on Friday, with many traveling on foot across long and difficult routes.

Preparations Peak for Ismaili Imam’s Didar in Chitral

Along the way, local communities have set up welcome and facilitation camps in villages such as Dizg, Khruzg and Bang. Elders and community leaders are present at these points to receive travelers, while arrangements for food, tea and refreshments have been made in abundance.

Residents in these areas have even slaughtered goats and oxen to ensure hospitality for those passing through.

Further ahead, people of Mastuj and Chinar have organized accommodation for the night, where travelers from Yarkhun are expected to stay before proceeding to the Didargah for the May 23 Didar.

Two Sites Selected as Didargah in Chitral

Prince Rahim Aga Khan Al-Hussaini arrived in Islamabad on May 20, but unfavorable weather conditions delayed his onward travel to Gilgit-Baltistan the following day.

He reached Gilgit by helicopter on May 22, where he was received by the caretaker chief minister and other officials, and later granted Didar to his followers in Hunza.

Ismailis from other parts of Yarkhun, Torkhow, Booni and nearby areas will attend Didar at Parwak on May 25. The same day His Highness Prince Rahim will give Didar to his followers in Garam Chashma Lower Chitral.
