Booni, May 19, 2026: The district administration of Upper Chitral held a meeting to review arrangements for the expected visit of His Highness Shah Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan from Nay 23 to 25.

The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Moazzam Khan Bangash and attended by officials, including assistant commissioners, police representatives, heads of line departments, and members of the Ismaili Regional Council.
Officials reviewed security measures, traffic management, visitor facilities, sanitation, rescue services, and overall administrative planning for the occasion.

The additional deputy commissioner directed the police department to finalize and share a comprehensive security plan, while also emphasizing the need for an effective traffic management strategy to ensure smooth flow during the visit.
To facilitate visitors, authorities instructed local administrators, police and transport associations to jointly set and officially notify transport fares, preventing overcharging.
The district health officer was tasked with ensuring availability of medical facilities, medicines, doctors, and staff at the main gathering site and nearby areas.
A coordinated plan involving health services and Rescue 1122 was also ordered for ambulance deployment, medical teams and fire safety arrangements, particularly around the helipad.

Rescue 1122 was further directed to station emergency personnel and ambulances along routes and key locations, while the education department was instructed to designate nearby schools as facilitation centers for visitors.
Municipal authorities were told to install waste bins and ensure fire brigade readiness, while the National Highway Authority was directed to carry out water sprinkling in the area from May 21 to 26 to control dust.
The meeting also decided that government officials belonging to the Ismaili community would be granted leave on the day of the religious gathering.

Additionally, all departments were instructed to allocate official vehicles to assist visitors with transportation, ensuring that no one is unable to attend due to financial constraints.
Security Plan Finalized in Lower Chitral
A high-level security meeting was held at the DPO Office Lower Chitral to review arrangements for the expected visit of His Highness Prince Shah Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan.
The Aga Khan is scheduled to meet his followers in Garam Chashma on May 25.
The meeting was chaired by Acting District Police Officer Atiq-ur-Rehman and attended by senior police officials, intelligence representatives, traffic police, and members of the Ismaili Regional Council, including security and event coordinators.
Officials reviewed in detail the security deployment plan, internal and external routes, parking arrangements, traffic management, emergency response measures, and overall coordination among departments to ensure smooth conduct of the visit.
The acting DPO directed all concerned officers to utilize available resources effectively and ensure a foolproof security system for the event.
He emphasized strong inter-agency coordination to maintain law and order and ensure public safety throughout the visit.
Participants agreed on maintaining close coordination between police, administrative departments, and community representatives to ensure efficient execution of the security plan.
The meeting concluded with instructions to finalize operational arrangements and ensure readiness at all levels ahead of the high-profile visit.
