Madaklasht, Lower Chitral, May 16, 2026: The Ismaili community in Madaklasht valley of Lower Chitral have launched a community-led effort to repair and improve sections of their access road ahead of the expected Didar of His Highness the Aga Khan.
Local sources report that members of the Ismaili community have voluntarily contributed labor and resources to clear debris and restore damaged portions of the route, which has been in poor shape for years.

The initiative is being carried out on a self-help basis, with residents aiming to ensure safer and smoother travel for community members and visitors expected to attend the forthcoming event.
In the absence of government intervention, residents frequently rely on collective action to maintain basic connectivity.
Madaklasht, a remote valley in Lower Chitral, is known for its challenging terrain and dependence on seasonal access routes, where community participation often plays a key role in maintaining infrastructure.
His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan, the 50th Imam of the Ismailis, is expected to meet his followers in Lower Chitral in Garam Chashma on May 25.
