Youth arrested for assaulting father in Lower Chitral

Chitral, May 9, 2026: Police in Lower Chitral have arrested a young man identified as Sajid for allegedly assaulting his own father in the Thararo area of Ayun.
According to officials, the police took immediate action upon receiving information about the incident. On the special directives of District Police Officer, Station House Officer Ayun Sub-Inspector Kifayatullah reached the scene and took the suspect into custody.
Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
In a statement, the district police emphasized that respect for parents holds a very high status in society and religion, and any form of abuse or violence against them is unacceptable.
Officials reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against such incidents and urged the public to report cases of domestic violence promptly.
