Chitral, Feb 12, 2026: The district judiciary of Lower Chitral has launched three major projects aimed to improve judicial efficiency.

District and Sessions Judge Lower Chitral Shehnaz Hameed Khattak inaugurated the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Centre, District Malkhana and a six-KV solar system for the district bar in a ceremony attended by the deputy commissioner, senior civil judges, district public prosecutor, president of the District Bar Association and a large number of lawyers.

Addressing the ceremony, Ms. Khattak said the objective of these projects is to provide affordable and speedy justice to the public at their doorstep.

The establishment of the ADR Centre will enable family and other minor disputes to be resolved outside the court through mutual consent, reducing the burden on courts and saving time and money for litigants.

The district-level Malkhana will ensure secure custody of case property, including sensitive items such as narcotics, thereby strengthening judicial transparency.

Meanwhile, the installation of the six-KV solar system for the district bar will ensure that court proceedings and lawyers’ work continue uninterrupted despite load-shedding.

“Our commitment is to make the delivery of justice transparent, effective and people-friendly in a remote district like Chitral,” said Ms. Shehnaz Hameed Khattak.
