CHITRAL, Dec 18, 2025: A large pothole on the main road in Chitral Bazar has become a symbol of official negligence, causing growing concern among residents and traders.
Despite the passage of several weeks, no steps have been taken by the concerned departments or the district administration to repair the damaged section of the road. The pothole is located in one of the busiest areas of the city, where thousands of pedestrians and vehicles pass daily.
Citizens say the situation poses a serious risk to public safety, especially for motorcyclists, elderly people and children. Traders in the area have also complained that the poor road condition is affecting business and causing traffic congestion.
Residents question why such a minor yet crucial repair has been delayed for so long and whether public safety and convenience are among the priorities of the district administration.
They warned that if any incident occurs due to this negligence, the responsibility will rest with the relevant authorities. They have urged the administration to take immediate action before the situation leads to a serious accident.
