Chitral Bazar road accidents

Stitching In Times Saves Nine

I had highlighted this issue previously but it seems it was not given any heed. Today, I feel the need to bring it to attention again especially after witnessing the tragic incident yesterday in front of the Degree College.

The road in front of the Polo Ground gate has become extremely dangerous.

Children coming to school from the Polo Ground area are at serious risk. I cross this road every morning and often stand there for 2, 3 minutes because vehicles coming from the Chawni side and going from the Bazar side pass this area at full speed, making it almost impossible to cross the road safely.

Children either wait or cross the road hurriedly because they need to reach school on time. Vehicles feel no need to slow down due to the absence of even a simple speed breaker. As the saying goes, “stitching in time saves nine.”

Therefore, I am once again requesting the concerned authorities to at least install a speed breaker here and place a signboard to prevent any unfortunate accidents.
