ISLAMABAD: The United Nations has allocated six hundred thousand dollars to help victims of deadly flash floods in Pakistan.
Heavy monsoon rains triggered severe floods across several regions. Thousands of people have been affected. The floods damaged homes, infrastructure, and farmland. Many communities are now displaced and urgently need aid.
The floods worsened existing problems. Many people lack clean water, healthcare, and shelter. Local authorities, along with national and international partners, are working hard to provide relief and coordinate rescue efforts.
UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told reporters that Pakistani authorities, supported by the UN and local partners, are taking strong measures to handle the crisis.
Tomorrow, a UN team will visit the affected areas to assess the flood damage.
