Barcelona, August 11, 2025 – Street criminals robbed Syed Abdul Qadir Gillani, the son of Senate Chairman and former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, in Barcelona.
They snatched his luxury wristwatch and escaped. The robbery happened while Mr. Gillani, a Member of the National Assembly, was sightseeing in the city. The stolen watch is worth €56,000, about Rs18.5 million.
Street crime in Barcelona has been rising. Thieves often target tourists wearing expensive items. They strike fast in crowded areas and flee on foot or motorcycles.
Police have urged visitors to keep valuables out of sight. Several athletes, celebrities, and foreign dignitaries have fallen victim to similar robberies in recent years.
