CHITRAL: The elderly man who jumped into the Chitral River at Chew Bridge yesterday (August 27) has been identified but his dead body is still missing.
According to local residents, an elderly man jumped into the flooding river yesterday afternoon and disappeared. The man, aged over 70, was later identified as a resident of Faizabad Hon in Lower Chitral.
The locals said that he had reportedly been experiencing mental health difficulties for some time.
His body has not yet been recovered, while the search operation is continuing to locate him. Residents living near the river have been urged to remain vigilant and keep a close watch along the riverbanks in their respective areas.
