Chitral, July 14, 2026: Judicial employees in Upper and Lower Chitral have postponed their strike for one day following a decision by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter of the All Pakistan Judicial Employees Association (APJEA).

According to the association, the provincial cabinet has constituted a special negotiation committee to address the long-standing issues and legitimate demands of judicial employees across the province.

A key consultative meeting of the committee is scheduled to be held in Peshawar on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m., where representatives will discuss the employees’ grievances and explore possible solutions.

The leadership of the judicial employees in Upper and Lower Chitral expressed full support for the provincial cabinet’s decision, stating that they were temporarily suspending the strike in line with the organization’s directives while maintaining discipline and unity.

The APJEA said that if the negotiations fail to produce a satisfactory outcome, the provincial cabinet will convene an emergency meeting to announce its future course of action. In that case, judicial employees across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to resume their protest movement.

The provincial leadership has directed judicial staff in all districts to await further instructions and strictly adhere to the decisions of the association.
