Chitral, April 26, 2026: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society has completed the distribution of food assistance among displaced and affected families of Arandu.

The initiative was launched in response to the growing humanitarian needs caused by recent border tensions and subsequent displacement in the region.

Under this program, a total of 2,000 food packages were distributed among 1,000 vulnerable households. Each relief package contained essential food items including flour, rice, cooking oil, sugar, tea, dates, and pulses to support families facing acute shortages.

The distribution process was carried out under the supervision of the district administration to ensure transparency and fair allocation.

Representatives from both organizations, along with district authorities, reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting communities affected by ongoing challenges in the area.

After spending more than a month away from their homes due to clashes along Pak-Afghan border in Arandu, the residents of the border town, who had temporarily relocated to Drosh and other areas, have finally returned home recently.
