Chitral, Jan 31, 2026: A Mazda vehicle met with an accident late at night near the Lowari Tunnel after skidding on heavy ice accumulated on the road.
According to Rescue 1122, the vehicle lost control due to severe slippery conditions caused by snowfall and overturned. However, no casualties were reported in the incident. Goods loaded in the vehicle sustained damage.
Eyewitnesses stated that intense cold and continuous snowfall had made the road extremely slippery, disrupting vehicular movement in the area.
Rescue 1122 and Civil Defense volunteers reached the site and initiated relief operations. They removed the overturned vehicle from the road and restored traffic.
