Chitral, Nov 16, 2025: Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan paid a one-day visit to Chitral. The visit was kept so secret that even the ruling Pakistan Muslim League leadership was not informed about it.
Khan arrived in Chitral in a helicopter and departed after completing his engagements without anyone getting the slightest hint of his schedule.
During his recent visit to Chitral, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced that the communications minister would be sent to Chitral to review and resolve the longstanding issues concerning the district’s road infrastructure. A notification was later issued in this regard. However, the minister arrived in Chitral unexpectedly and kept his visit hidden, causing deep disappointment among the public.
According to sources, even the PML-N District President Advocate Abdul Wali Khan was unaware of the visit. He was out of town when he was informed on Sunday morning about the minister’s arrival.
Similarly, party district leader and spokesperson Advocate Niaz A. Niazi also expressed surprise on social media over the secretive visit.
The public had high expectations from the visit, as the minister was instructed by the prime minister to visit Chitral, meet local stakeholders, understand the issues firsthand, and work towards concrete solutions. However, the secretive nature of the trip has caused considerable frustration and disappointment among both public and political circles.
