DHQ Hospital Team Commended for Saving Life in Emergency

CHITRAL, Nov 5, 2025: A team of doctors and nursing staff at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Chitral Lower has earned wide appreciation for their exceptional professionalism and timely response during an emergency case in the labor room earlier this week.

During the critical situation, Dr. Iffat Kehkashan and her team provided prompt and effective medical assistance, successfully saving the life of the patient. Their skill, dedication and commitment to duty were widely lauded by the patient’s family, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude on social media for the team’s compassion and medical expertise.

In recognition of their outstanding service, Medical Superintendent Dr. Fayaz Ali Romi presented appreciation certificates to Dr. Iffat, Head Nurses Razia Mazhar, Pari Gul, Latifa Bibi and Midwife Sameen Gul.

  1. Spoiler alert: the hospital still looks like a rundown disaster zone, no matter how many pictures the MS posts.
And let us talk about the real issues that Dr Rumi seems to be conveniently ignoring. Instead of spending so much time curating his image online, maybe he should pay attention to the blatant lack of professionalism in his own staff.
How about his doctors puffing away on cigarettes while supposedly attending to patients in the OPD? Absolutely disgraceful. It is 2025, not the 1980s. Smoking in a medical setting, especially in front of patients, is not only unprofessional but downright dangerous.
If Dr Rumi truly wants to earn the title of “Medical Superintendent,” he might want to focus on actually running the hospital, rather than playing influencer on social media.
The constant self-promotion might be a hit on Facebook, but it is doing nothing to address the real problems at DHQ Chitral. People are not going to be impressed by photos and videos of him doing menial tasks; they are going to be impressed by actual improvements in the hospital’s condition, staff behaviour, and patient care.
Until then, his posts are nothing but an embarrassing distraction from the real work that needs to be done. Perhaps Dr Rumi should spend less time promoting his public image and more time cleaning up the mess in his hospital!!!
