Nankana Sahib, Nov 3, 2025: The three-day celebrations marking the 556th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the revered founder of Sikhism, have officially begun in Nankana Sahib, Punjab.
Thousands of Sikh pilgrims from across the globe are arriving to participate in the spiritual and cultural festivities.
According to district authorities, nearly 30,000 Sikh pilgrims are expected to attend the main ceremony. Over 2,000 pilgrims from India are scheduled to reach Nankana Sahib through the Wagah Border on Tuesday, with all arrangements for their reception already completed.
The district administration has implemented comprehensive security and facilitation measures to ensure the safety and comfort of the visiting pilgrims. More than 5,000 security officers and personnel have been deployed across key locations.
A fully equipped mini hospital, along with dispensaries and rescue camps, has been established at the Gurdwara Janam Asthan and other gurdwaras to provide medical assistance when needed.
In addition, meticulous arrangements have been made for cleanliness, accommodation, and community meals (langar), while a free shuttle service has been introduced to assist pilgrims in traveling between various sites.
Facilities such as banks, money exchange counters, and help centers have also been set up for the convenience of visitors.
The main ceremony celebrating Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary will take place on November 5 at Gurdwara Janam Asthan, the sacred birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The three-day celebrations will conclude on November 6, 2025.
