PESHAWAR, Oct 15, 2025: The Peshawar High Court has suspended the by-election process in NA-1 Chitral scheduled to be held on November 26 following disqualification of PTI’s Abdul Latif.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Waqar Ahmad heard a petition filed against the disqualification of Member National Assembly Abdul Latif and issued the directive.
During the hearing, Additional Director General Law of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Khurram Shehzad requested the court to adjourn the case until next week, stating that the ECP would present its arguments then.
The court issued notices to the Election Commission and ordered a halt to the by-election process in NA-1 Chitral until further orders.
