CHITRAL, Sept 22, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Rao Hashim Azam inaugurated a Drug Rehabilitation Center at the District Jail Lower Chitral.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner said the alarming rise in drug abuse poses grave threats to the future of the young generation. He stressed that tackling this challenge requires coordinated, comprehensive and effective measures at every level.
He explained that the rehabilitation center will provide addicted inmates with modern medical treatment as well as psychological counseling and social support. He said these services will help them rebuild their lives in a constructive manner.
He added that the facility will serve as a key platform in the rehabilitation of prisoners. It will transform them into healthy, responsible and productive citizens.
The deputy commissioner described the initiative as a significant milestone in the campaign to eliminate drugs from the region. He said it will ensure the practical rehabilitation of affected individuals and strengthen both personal lives and the fabric of society as a whole.
